Survivor Contestants Continue to Show Love for FiveFingers

by Brian Patterson » on Feb 16, 2012 2

Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.  That is the Survivor motto, and contestants will do anything they can to get an edge in any one of those categories.  So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that a lot of participants are now wearing FiveFingers to get an edge in the challenges.  Last year we spotted Ozzy Lusth, Survivor favorite, wearing KSO Treks.  In this season’s premier we spotted three different people rockin’ them.

The physical challenges often include climbing, running, and balancing, and FiveFingers certainly can help contestants excel in those areas.  In last night’s episode, contestants had to jump onto a net from a high perch, then climb down the net, run across a long balance beam, and cross a rope bridge.

We were able to get some low-def screen captures of this.  It looked great on an HDTV, but not so much on CBS.com streaming.

Kourtney Moon & Sabrina Thompson wearing Bikilas at the start of the challenge. Sabrina did fine, but Kourtney had poor form jumping, broke her wrist, and is out of the game.

Contestant Troy Robertson, 'Troyzan', wearing Komodosports while going across the balance beam. He nailed it.

What physical activities do FiveFingers give you an edge in?

This is awesome! I love how toe shoes are becoming more popular. These ladies need some Sticky Toez on those Vibrams!

I guess it’s not long before the contestants start wearing the famous Swiss Protection Sock.
